Evening UMW Circle, April 15th

The blustery conditions outside couldn't deter the ladies of the Evening Circle from gathering for their last meeting before the summer hiatus (next meeting: September 16th).

Evening Circle president, Arlene Christensen began the evening with a lovely devotional and Doris Spearow and Shirely Swanstrom provided a tasty strawberry shortcake for the fellowship time.

Norma Long led the program which featured the "Call to Prayer and Self-Denial" program of the United Methodist Women, the theme for 2009 is “Creating Communities through Information Technology" (see this link for more information).

Following the meeting, the ladies began the task of assembling UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) kits, an annual endeavor which benefits people around the world. All church members are encouraged to take part and contributions are welcomed through the month of May. Please visit the UMCOR web site to learn more about what items are needed.
