Easter Sunday
What a blessing today was! From the first ray of light squeaking through the dark, grey skies to the fellowship and worship, there was ample evidence that our God is present in our midst!
The youth, led by Janet Rosenbaum, offered a sunrise service in the Welcome Center. Even though the clouds hid the sun's rays, the warmth of the 50+ congregation filled the space with the love of the Risen Christ.
Before the sunrise service, Dan & Marilee Rowan and Dennis & Pam Byerly were in the kitchen preparing a wonderful Easter breakfast of biscuits and gravy. It was greatly appreciated by the large group that gathered after the early service.
There were church school classes taking place, fellowship, and much more in the hour leading up to the combined Celebration Worship Service at 9:00 a.m. What a blessing it was, people taking the time to learn, to share and to celebrate the unity of the body of Christ in so many ways!!!
The Celebration Service began with William Draper and Seth McMillen serving as acolytes. These two fine young men also assisted in the placement of symbols of resurrection onto the communion table as the items were described. Arlene Christensen served as lector and and assisted Jarva Frerichs, Chase Frerichs and Pastor Charles in the serving of communion. We were also blessed this morning with special music provided by the singing of Kelsey Arrington, Jennifer Ernest's piano accompaniment and Courtney Shabram-Beach who signed (in American Sign Language) to Kelsey's singing of "Ode to Joy."
