The Spring Rummage sale is history

The four day rummage sale has run its course and while the final tally hasn't been received, the sale was a success! In the first three days over $2,900 had been taken in for church ministries.

A wonderful group of volunteers put the finishing touches on the sale by packing up the remaining itmes and making the Fellowship Hall ready for the next church event!

April 27th at First UMC

We were visited by Pastors Jerry and Connie White during our worship and fellowship time today and a nice time was had by all. Jerry is the older brother of Janet Rosenbaum and along with his wife, Connie, serve as missionaries in Paraguay.

UMW Spring Event 2

The day broke cold and cloudy and the spring snow caught us by surprise. But it couldn't stop the intrepid UMW members from all across the Great West Districtfrom assembling at Camp Norwesca.

The day offered great fellowship, teaching by Rev. Lynda Parson, and another splendid meal by the Camp Norwesca staff.

By the time the afternoon worship concluded, the morning snow had all melted and everyone departed having enjoyed another terrific UMW spring event!

Great West District UMW Spring Event

UMW executive committee members from around the Great West District began arriving at beautiful Camp Norwesca (just south of Chadron) on Friday afternoon in preparation for the district event on Saturday.

The theme, "Resurrection Women" promises to offer a powerful infusion of the Holy Spirit into those attending!

Day two of the Spring Rummage sale was a busy day. While the weather was blustery that didn't seem to deter the shoppers looking for bargains on 11th Avenue!

Spring Rummage Sale is underway!

The semi-annual frenzy known as the First UMC rummage sale kicked off this morning with a flurry of shoppers and helpers and wall-to-wall bargains! Stay tuned for the rest of the story!!!

Worship at First UMC

Two events made today's 10:00 worship service extra special. First was the musical offering of the children's bells, "Bells-R-Us." The joyful sound they made added so much to our worship service.

The second special moment was seeing Don Baumbach serving as an usher once again. Don is such a special man whose faith is a real witness for us all.

Five-day Academy for Spiritual Formation

Pastor Charles and Belinda enjoyed a terrific week in Schuyler at the St. Benedict Center attending the Five-day Academy for Spiritual Formation. Sponsored by the Upper Room, this annual event is packed with study, reflection time, small groups, and worship.
