2009 UMW Spring Breakfast

The ladies of the Morning Circle of the United Methodist Women (UMW) hosted the annual Spring Breakfast this morning in the "round table room." Morning Circle chair, Kathleen Edwards, greeted members and guests to the final meeting of the First United Methodist Church's UMW until September.

Marilee Rowan offered a service in recognition of those members of the unit who have passed away since the previous spring breakfast. This year, Pauline Carr, Thurma Gibbins, Kathleen Jenks, Wilma Larson and Lois Thayer were remembered with a lit candle, birthday scripture verse and memories offered by attendees of each of these unique ladies.

The 2008-2009 awards were presented to the following members:
Morning Circle's Special Membership Award - Kathleen Edwards
Evening Circle's Gift to Mission - Geraldine Talich and Belinda Alkula
Faith Stitcher's Circle's Gift to Mission - Julie Armbruster and Kerri Sheldon

The Dedicated Light will be presented in honor of Lois Thayer at the Great West District UMW's meeting in the fall.
