World Day of Prayer Observance in Sidney, Nebraska

Women from all over Cheyenne County met this afternoon at the Light Memorial Presbyterian Church in Sidney for an especially meaningful service to commemorate the World Day of Prayer 2009. The president of our United Methodist Women's (UMW's) unit Norma Long served as one of the lectors. And other members of our UMW participated in the service as well.

We celebrated the faith and courage of the women of Papua New Guinea. We reflected upon what the women of this county do to make our corner of the world better.

It was a wonderful program of prayers, Scripture readings and musical offerings to God in thanks for His love, mercy and grace. For more information about this year's World Day of Prayer, you can go to this link.

Praise be to God for this special day!
