Dawn broke clear and cold over Sidney this morning but that didn't stop the faithful from gathering at First UMC to celebrate the resurrection!
We began with a sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. and shared a special time of communion and the fellowship that comes from gathering at that early hour.
The 8:00 service followed our fellowship time and the congregation was in good voice as we greeted one another in the name of the Risen Messiah in the chapel with song and the morning message, "It is a Simple Story."
After Church School, which included an Easter egg hunt for the children, a large congregation gathered in the sanctuary and enjoyed the offering of the choir and the children's message (provided by Janet Rosenbaum).
It was a wonderful morning and it is just the beginning of our life with the Risen Christ!
