Monday evening at the Five-day Academy

Today was our first full day the 2009 Academy and though the rain and wind came hard upon the retreat center, inside our thoughts were turned to the warmth of our fellowship and the creator upon whose purpose and love we rely.

Our presenters this week will be offering a session each day on their topic which is followed by a period of reflection by the group. The morning session was led by the Rev. Margaret Guenther, who is an Episcopal priest, who spoke on Spiritual Guidance. In the afternoon, Dr. Thomas Thangaraj, a retired professor from Emory University and a pastor in the Church of South India, spoke on Christian Spirituality in a Global Context.
